Race description
The Euchideia Ultra is a historic ultramarathon race that crosses the area between Delphi and Plataea, honoring the feat of the messenger Euchidas. Runners pass through historic battlefields and natural landscapes, with routes that include uphill sections on Mount Helicon and panoramic views of the Corinthian Gulf. The race offers a unique experience combining sports, history, and culture, with start and finish points at significant historic sites. The event includes three ultramarathon routes, covering different levels of difficulty and distance.

The start of the Euchideia ultra-distance race of 215 km is at 07:00. There is a pasta party and technical briefing the day before. The route is mainly paved except for a small 5 km dirt road section. There are control and refueling stations along the route. After finishing, a ceremony of lighting the Delphi Fire, awards, and a reception at the European Cultural Center of Delphi take place. The event features multiple routes with historical and cultural significance, emphasizing the natural beauty of the area. Registrations usually open at the end of October or early November.
