22ος Olympus Marathon

The Olympus Marathon is a unique 44-kilometer mountain running race with a positive elevation gain of +3350 meters, held on the mythical Mount Olympus. The route starts from the archaeological site of Dion and follows trails through forests, alpine meadows, and peaks, reaching Litochoro. The race honors the ancient tradition of pilgrims who ascended Olympus to honor Zeus, offering a unique experience for runners following the footsteps of history on the mountain of gods. It is a certified SKYRUNNING race and presents a challenge for experienced mountain runners.

The route includes three feeding and hydration stations, a runner's packet with a gift, pasta-party on the Friday before the race, a medal for finishers, and transportation from Litochoro. The race has a time limit of 12 hours and requires prior experience in mountain races. Technical support, first aid, and volunteers are available throughout the course. It includes parallel races such as Olympus Ultra 71 km, Olympus Vertical 4 km, Melindra Trail 5 km, and the Eagle's Peak 14 km. Registrations open in February 2026, with discounts for early registration. The event combines sport, nature, and tradition.
