Race description
The Olympus Marathon is a unique 44-kilometer mountain running race with a positive elevation gain of +3350 meters, held on the mythical Mount Olympus. The route starts from the archaeological site of Dion and follows trails through forests, alpine meadows, and peaks, reaching Litochoro. The race honors the ancient tradition of pilgrims who ascended Olympus to honor Zeus, offering a unique experience for runners following the footsteps of history on the mountain of gods. It is a certified SKYRUNNING race and presents a challenge for experienced mountain runners.
