Race description
The 8th Crocodile Trail is a demanding mountain race held in Paleochora, Chania, Crete. The 20.5-kilometer route with an elevation gain of +1200 meters starts from the coastal road of Sougia and passes through technical trails, rocky terrains, and historic sites such as Ancient Lissos. The race combines natural beauty, challenge, and respect for the environment, offering a unique running experience in southwestern Crete. The event includes athlete transportation, a pasta party, and a meal after the finish line.

Athlete transportation from Paleochora to Sougia approximately 1 hour before the start. Pasta party and race packet distribution on Saturday before the race. Last athlete crossing time limit at the Gialiskari station is 10 km. After the finish, an award ceremony and meal follow. The route is 20.5 kilometers with 1,200 meters of positive elevation, emphasizing technical difficulty and the beauty of the natural environment. The event also includes the Kolisaura Run, 6.5 kilometers long.
