Race description

The Byzantine 50 Kilometer Running Race is an ultramarathon held in Megara, combining a fully asphalt route through pistachio groves, olive groves, vineyards, and wooded areas, with a section of approximately 5 kilometers along the enchanting Alepohori - Dourako beach. The race honors the history of Byzantus, founder of Constantinople, and has a charitable character, collecting food for the Social Food Bank of Megara Municipality. The event is organized by the Municipality of Megara and collaborating bodies, aiming to promote the running movement and provide an introduction to ultramarathon races.
