6ο Vamvakou Mountain Run

The 6th Vamvakou Mountain Run, taking place on June 7, 2026, is a mountain race offering a unique experience on the authentic trails of the Laconian Parnon. With three distances of 29, 19, and 7 kilometers, the race combines physical challenge, changing landscapes, and the warm hospitality of the revitalized village of Vamvakou. Organized under the supervision of runner and coach Ioannis Dimopoulos, the race is part of the Vamvakou Revival Initiative and is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. The race is open to runners of all levels and offers electronic timing, medals, awards, and prize draws.

Limited number of entries (200). All participants receive a race bib, timing chip, commemorative T-shirt, medal, and light meal at the finish. Electronic timing is available on all courses. Awards for the top three men and women in each race, as well as age categories. Prize draws for one lucky participant per distance. Transportation is available from Athens and Kalamata.
