Race description
The 6th Vamvakou Mountain Run, which will take place on June 7, 2026, is a mountain running race offering a unique experience through the authentic trails of the Lakonic Parnonas. With three routes of 29, 19, and 7 kilometers, the race combines physical challenge, changing landscapes, and the warm hospitality of the revived village of Vamvakou. Organized under the supervision of runner and coach Ioannis Dimopoulos, it is part of the Vamvakou Revival initiative and supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. The race is open to runners of all levels and offers electronic timing, medals, awards, and prize draws.

Additional information
Limited number of participants (200). All participants receive a race number, timing chip, commemorative T-shirt, medal, and a light meal at the finish line. Electronic timing is available on all routes. Awards for the top 3 men and women in each route and age categories. Prize draws for one lucky participant per route. Transportation from Athens and Kalamata is available. A pasta party and activities for children are organized. Trail running, mountain terrain, multiple race distances, organized by non-profit, support from SNF, registration open until 31/05/2026.
