5TH EVRYTANIA TRAIL RACES

The organizers of the 5th Evrytania Trail Races invite you to run along the fir-covered trails of mountainous Evrytania, in one of Europe’s cleanest ecosystems. The races offer a unique opportunity to experience the magic of nature, cool off in the crystal-clear waters of the Krikellopotamos River, and enjoy the hospitality of traditional villages that serve as aid stations. The event includes races of different distances, suitable for both beginner and experienced runners, with beautiful and challenging courses combining trails, dirt roads, and paved roads.

The races include 6K, 12K, and 20K courses, with different time limits (2 hours for the 6K, 3 hours for the 12K, and 5 hours for the 20K). The 6K and 12K start on Saturday, May 30, at 17:00 from Krikello’s central square, while the 20K starts on Sunday, May 31, at 10:00 from the Prophet Elias grove in Domnista. Mandatory equipment is not required, but basic emergency gear and water are recommended. There is a generous time limit for walking or completing the course. The event is open to participants aged 16 and over (6K, 12K) and 18 and over (20K). The races combine trail running with cultural activities, with an emphasis on nature and local tradition. Participants should be prepared for challenging mountain routes and be self-sufficient with their equipment.
