4ος Δρόμος Θυσίας Κακολύρι 1944

The 4th “Kakolyri 1944” Memorial Run honors the victims of the 1944 massacre in the village of Taxiarches. It is organized by the Municipality of Kymi-Aliveri and the Taxiarches Cultural Association, with support from cultural associations and communities in the area. It includes a 21 km half marathon, a 5 km race, and a 1.2 km children’s race, with routes passing through historic villages and natural landscapes. The event offers electronic timing, commemorative medals and T-shirts, as well as full support with aid stations and medical coverage.

Electronic timing by Fitrace. All athletes receive a commemorative medal and a dry-fit T-shirt. There are 7 water stations along the half-marathon route and 2 stations along the 5 km route. Water, fruit, soft drinks, and savory snacks are provided at the finish. Medical coverage is provided by a doctor, an EKAB ambulance, and volunteer rescuers. The event is supported by volunteer groups and associations. It includes technical descriptions, GPX route maps, historical facts and information, as well as participation and support from volunteers and associations such as the Hellenic Red Cross and the Evia Runners Association.
