4ο Γόμφοι Trail

The 4th semi-mountainous Gómfoi Trail Race "On the trails of our ancestors" will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in the Gómfoi area of Trikala. It is a unique event that includes two semi-mountainous routes starting and ending at the central square of Gómfoi, crossing trails, forest, and rural roads at the foothills of Mount Itamos and in the Thessalian plain. The aim of the race is to highlight the natural beauty and historical heritage of the area, as well as to promote sports tourism and fair play.

Runners must be at the central square of Gómfoi by 08:00 a.m. The longer route has a time limit of 3 hours and the shorter 1.5 hours. There are 4 supply-hydration stations on the longer route and 1 on the shorter. Participants receive a timing chip, number, and souvenirs on Saturday before the race or on the race day up to one hour before the start. Routes on trails, forest, and rural roads, with races for all ages and voluntary participation.
