The Ioannina Lake Run is a flat, asphalt race of 30 kilometers that crosses the area around Lake Pamvotida, offering a unique experience within a landscape of natural beauty. It is aimed at both runners trying this distance for the first time and those seeking strong performances. The start and finish are at MaVili Square in Ioannina, with the start given in stages from 8:15 a.m. The event has a long tradition and attracts thousands of runners each year, creating a three-day running festival with races for all ages and levels.

Chip, bib, and souvenir pickup takes place at MaVili Square on Friday 18/09 (17:00-20:00) and Saturday 19/09 (10:00-21:00). There is also an option to collect materials on Sunday before the race starting at 7:00 a.m. The start is staged in groups. The maximum participation is 3,000 runners. Participants must be over 18 years old. Medical and cardiological checks are recommended before participation. Organizers do not require medical certificates, and participation is at the runners' own responsibility. The route includes 11 feeding stations, electronic timing, a collectible medal, and a finisher diploma. There are parallel routes and races for all ages and levels, with start and finish in the heart of the city.
